Saturday, June 1, is National Trails Day and there are several events – service-oriented and informational – planned around western Montana.
- In the Missoula area, the Back Country Horsemen will be at Blue Mountain with a demonstration Leave No Trace camp, trail user survey, bicycle/equestrian helmet display, saw certification, fence painting, water and dog biscuits, and handouts.
- At Travelers’ Rest State Park in Lolo, there will be a fence removal project as part of a larger trail system expansion.
- And at the Milltown site overlook along Deer Creek Road, there will be a native plant stewardship project and an update on the planned Milltown State Park.
